This is a very interesting song, as it is from the early 1800 century. It shows a propaganda song where they tarnish the normal family women to be trolls if they are not Christian (and abandon their traditional faith). They should abandon their traditional faith and start to pay tax 10% to the church. Why is it the first thing that the bible talks about is that every one should pay tax ?

For those of you who do not know there is an interpretation of the song where the troll represents a pagan woman, meaning the song is about resisting the temptation of apostacy

0:50 I want to salute this attempt at swedish, even though I could tell it is of a foreign actor. I think it's "och" (and) that gives it away the most! It should be prenounced like "mock" in english but without the "M". Also the writing, because it wraps up with the same line by the end of the song, it's all so good! Wow! Fantastic! As a Swede I must say that Chris sings almost perfect Swedish, any less could be attributed to some dialect or just old Swedish pronunciation. I really need to pay attention before I got it that the singers weren't Swedish. And Markus was almost as good. It could even be argued that a very slight german accent makes the performance even better, due to how medieval Swedish was influenced by German. Trollkonans häst var av en intressant sydamerikansk karaktär. 😀
